The Bread Company – Kelowna
3 May
The Bread Company is a popular artisan bakery and eatery in Downtown Kelowna. They serve breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, salads, coffee, artisan breads, and plenty of pastries. Because a lot of places were closed over the weekend or had limited hours, we found ourselves eating here more than once.

Raudz – Kelowna
27 AprJ and I drove up to Kelowna for the Easter Weekend to visit some Okanagan wineries, which was on our To-Do list for much too long. It probably would have been better to go in the summer, but this was the only time we both could get time off.
Raudz - Regional Table - is probably one of the most popular fine dining restaurants in downtown Kelowna. It is known for consistently serving top-notch food while providing very reasonable prices.

Look at the back of the picture you can see it’s an open kitchen. You can see them work away while you eat, and I noticed that the four chefs in there worked surprisingly calm the whole time. Maybe I’ve just been watching too much Hell’s Kitchen.
The service here was impeccable from the moment we stepped in. They were casual, unpretentious and truly nice! Once we entered the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, and even the bartender behind the bar, and they diligently kept us posted on when our table would be ready. Our waiter, Andy, was also pretty awesome. We never had to wave him down and everything was always set and ready.

Salt Tasting Room
27 AprI love wine, and I absolutely love snacking while sipping on wine, so I was pretty damn excited to finally try the Salt Tasting Room. This restaurant isn’t a place to go when you’re hungry and you want to fill yourself up – it’s a place to go to tastefood and wine. It is also by far in the coolest place in Vancouver. As pictured below, it’s located in the middle of a back alley in Gastown. I was so hesitant to walk in this dark, urine-reeking alley until I looked up and saw the salt shaker on the pole.

Chilli House Thai Bistro – AYCE
23 AprChilli House is a member of the Thai House Restaurant Group, and is one of their more classier restaurants, as opposed to the very casual Thai House restaurants. It’s in a beautiful location underneath the Burrard Street Bridge, right by the water.
I had no idea they offered All You Can Eat here, and it’s actually the first time I ever heard of a Thai place offering it.
AYCE is $16 per person, not too shabby. Btw, even though it’s in the downtown vincinity, there is free underground parking, just don’t forget to write down your license plate number at the hostess desk of the restaurant.

The place is huge, and even has a second floor. It would be a great place for large parties. So, for AYCE here, instead of selecting and checking off items on a piece of paper, the waitress comes and takes your order like usual. The AYCE menu is of a decent size. It has a number of appetizers, salads/soups, stir-frys, curry, noodles, and rice.
Splitz Grill
7 Apr![]()
Splitz Grill is often called one of the best burger joints in Vancouver, and has been named just that in a few magazines and food articles. The burgers here aren’t “gourmet.” Splitz is a very casual establishment serving big, fresh, fast, make-it-how-you-want-it burgers.
Aside from burgers, they also serve hot dogs, wraps, poutine, ice cream, and milkshakes.

Upon entering, you walk up to the counter and order, then move down the counter to pick out the condiments and sauces you want as they assemble your burger. As one guy is placing your condiments on the bun, another guy is grilling the meat to be placed on it. Everything is made to order, as well as the fries if you order any.

Sushi Town (Burnaby)
6 AprYou gotta love the Korean-owned sushi joints sprinkled around the lower mainland. Their prices are unbeatable, considering the freshness of their seafood and their large portions. They’re growing in popularity and you see places like Sushi Town and Sushi Garden opening additional stores that become just as successful. Often, sushi chefs that have been trained at one restaurant will go and open up their own restaurant, so the menu items among different restaurants are very similar and of similar recipes.
Sushi Town is among the popular and well-known choices for cheap, fast, and delicious sushi. Besides the Burnaby location, they have also opened up in North Vancouver, Surrey, and Coquitlam – talk about successful…

Ebi Sunomono $3.50
I often order an Ebi Sunomono when I eat sushi, I just love how refreshing the cold vinegar broth is. Sushi Town gives a nicely sized bowl of it, and isn’t cheap on the ebi. They actually gave me three, as opposed to the usual two, but I think this might’ve been a mistake since two of them were nicely stuck together. Yay for me.

Seafood Salad $6.00
Every Korean sushi restaurant seems to have this on their menu. Bern likes to judge the restaurants by trying his favourite item – the seafood salad. He had only liked the one at Sushi Garden, but he said that Sushi Town’s salad was identical and just as tasty.
